The utilisation of food is conditioned by its access , the accessibility of food depends on its availability. To make food available this is an appropriate approach our association, governments and NGO can adapt.

1. LAND AVAILABILITY
   We should make land available easily to investors and farmers. Land is a very vital factor for the production of food.
2. LAND PRODUCTIVITY
   Having land and planting today isn’t sufficient, we need to think of the yield per hectare. This must be done in respect in respect to good agricultural practices like the use of bio inputs . 3. TYPE OF LABOUR FORCE.
   Qualify labour is needed to have better yields, and the number of workers needed for a project if attained can easily help to ease food availability in Africa.

4- AVAILABILITY OF INPUTS AND PRODUCTION TOOLS

There is no production without adequate farm inputs. Today Africa can’t reach the food security agenda by using ancient farm tools , this is unacceptable and unbelievable. The use of drones, tractors, artificial intelligence, tractors and robotics is highly needed to make food available.

There is no way today any farmer can talk of crop production without talking of irregular rain fall , unpredictable circumstances etc. There is no way to produce food without thinking of good irrigation system, better planning and type of farming methods to combat climate change.

The cycles of food is a factor we must integrate when planning to make food available. Households need to think of long and short cycles of food. This is because long cycle like fruit trees take longer periods but would last for very long periods. It’s important to think of mixing short term and long term crops in order to make food available.

7- ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURE.

Post harvest losses exist mostly because of elastic market prices and poor farm to market roads. During the rainy seasons many farmers can explain the difficulties they face to make food available. It’s important to make good roads.

8- FOOD PROCESSING

perishable products can only go longer if we can make process them, for example if we harvest pawpaw , it can only last for 6 days but when process into pawpaw chips or pawpaw jam, etc then we shall be able to have good process pawpaw with longer lifespan.

9- GOOD GOVERNANCE POLICY AND PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT.

A good political will, aid, subvention, quality training etc are the factors needed to make food available. A peaceful environment is fundamental to make food available..

10- CREATION OF COOPERATIVES AND ASSOCIATION. UBUNTU CONCEPT.

It’s important to note that it’s only by working together that we can make food available. I am because you are . A farmer would cultivate, then a driver would carry food in the market then the Bayam salam would ease the exchange of food for money..
